Boot Care

Care Notes: Boot Maintenance

Leather boots are like denim, they get better with time—if you treat them right. This is what we do, and what we recommend for every pair that leaves Camino Real.

1. Clean

Dust and dirt wear leather down over time. Use a soft brush or cleaner to wipe them down after each wear—especially if they’ve seen dirt roads or dance floors.

2. Dry

Always let boots air dry. No heat guns, no dryers. Just patience. Heat can warp and crack good leather.

3. Polish

Match your polish to the leather. Use a soft cloth to bring back the color and sheen. It’s not about gloss—it’s about life.

4. Condition

Leather dries. Especially exotics. Apply conditioner every few wears. Massage it in. Let it breathe. You’ll feel the difference.

5. Protect

Store with boot trees or in a box. Use a boot jack. Spray lightly for water resistance. And never drag your heels—respect the craft.

Every product we carry—from mink oil to suede spray—is tested, used, and trusted in-house. We don’t sell anything we wouldn’t use on our own boots.

Stop by. Ask questions. We’ll help you build a care routine tailored to your leather.
