Anatomy of a Boot

Our boots are made with authenticity and craftsmanship. Each part plays a vital role in structure, support, and timeless style—brought together in the bootmaking capital of León, Mexico.

  1. Beading: Double stitched between the lining and outer leather, this border gives added structure and contrast to the top.
  2. Scallop: Contoured boot tops that create a bold shape and allow for flexible leg fit.
  3. Pull Strap: All-leather and lock-stitched to stay strong for years of wear.
  4. Lining: Soft glove-tanned lining that’s bonded to the leather and stitched inside—comfortable and built to last.
  5. Front Quarter: The upper front of the shaft, where detailed stitching and premium leather meet.
  6. Back Quarter: Reinforced interior panels add structure to the rear shaft for added durability.
  7. Side Welt: Finished seams that are smoothed, flattened, and trimmed for a clean fit and classic look.
  8. Top Stitch: Multi-row stitching in rich patterns that bring strength and signature Western style to the shaft.
  9. Vamp Fitting Stitch: The vamp is stitched to the shaft with high-tensile thread for long-term strength.
  10. Vamp: The front part of the boot that covers the instep and top of the foot.
  11. Toe Box: Molded for protection and structure—contoured to match the boot last.
  12. Counter: A firm leather piece inside the heel that helps hold its shape over time.
  13. Goodyear Welt: A thick leather welt stitched to the upper and sole—offering long-term durability and re-sole options.
  14. Heel Cap: Rubber heel caps add traction and wear resistance where it counts most.
